Car
If you are driving from the city of Chillán, take Route 5 Sur towards Los Ángeles. After approximately 70 km, take the exit for Cabrero. Continue on Ruta 146 towards the town of Cabrero. Follow the signs for Saltos del Laja, which is about 10 km from Cabrero. The waterfalls are located near the intersection of Route 5 and Route 146, with parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach Saltos del Laja via public transportation, start from Chillán. Take a bus from the Chillán bus terminal to Los Ángeles. Buses run frequently, and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once in Los Ángeles, you can catch a local bus to Cabrero. From Cabrero, there are taxis available that can take you directly to Saltos del Laja, which is approximately 10 km away. Be sure to check the schedule for the return buses to ensure a timely trip back.
Taxi
If you prefer not to drive or take public transportation, you can hire a taxi in Cabrero to take you to Saltos del Laja. It is about a 15-minute ride. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand or ask the driver to use the meter. The cost may vary, but expect to pay around 10,000 to 15,000 Chilean pesos for the round trip.
