If you are driving from the city of Puerto Varas, take Route 225 towards Ensenada. Continue on Route 225 until you reach Route 5 (the Pan-American Highway). Head south on Route 5 until you reach the town of Puerto Montt. From Puerto Montt, take Route 225 again towards the island of Chiloé. You will need to take a ferry from Pargua to Chacao (ferry cost is approximately CLP 10,000 for a vehicle). Once you arrive in Chacao, continue on Route 5 south to the town of Quemchi. From Quemchi, you can reach Isla Puduhuapi by boat; you’ll need to arrange a local boat service or check with Patagonia Sailing Experience for options.

If you are using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Puerto Varas to Puerto Montt. Buses run frequently and the fare is approximately CLP 1,500.
