If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Concepción, which is approximately 100 km north of Arauco. Take Route 160 southbound towards Arauco. After around 70 km, you'll reach the town of Arauco. Continue on Route 160 until you reach the intersection with Fundo Qudico. Follow the signs directing you to the Yani Dunes, which will be on your right. The journey should take about 1.5 hours. Be aware of the local traffic regulations and ensure your vehicle has adequate fuel before departing, as services can be sparse in some areas.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, head to the main bus terminal in Concepción. Look for buses heading to Arauco; these typically depart frequently throughout the day. The bus ride takes approximately 2 hours. Once in Arauco, you can take a local taxi or arrange for a rideshare to take you to Fundo Qudico where Yani Dunes is located. Expect to pay around CLP 5,000 to CLP 10,000 for the taxi ride, depending on the distance and time of day.
Walking
If you are staying at a lodging near Arauco and would like to walk to Yani Dunes, it’s approximately a 4 km walk from the center of Arauco. Head south on Calle Lientur, then turn left onto Route 160. Continue straight until you reach the signs for Fundo Qudico. The walking path may vary, so use a GPS-enabled device to help navigate. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially on warmer days.
