Walking
From the center of San Pedro de Atacama, head south on Caracoles Street (Calle Caracoles). Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Calle Toconao. Turn left onto Calle Toconao and continue walking until you reach the main square (Plaza de Armas). From the square, take the road heading northwest toward Calle Coyo. Continue on this road for approximately 2 kilometers. You will notice signs pointing towards Observatorio Alarkapin. Follow these signs until you reach the observatory, which is located in the Ayllu de Coyo area.
