Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of San Pedro de Atacama, head north on Caracoles Street until you reach the intersection with Ignacio Carrera Pinto Street. Turn right onto Ignacio Carrera Pinto and continue straight until you reach the main square (Plaza de San Pedro). From the square, take the road that leads out of town towards the northeast. This road will lead you towards the outskirts of San Pedro. Continue walking for about 4 kilometers, and you will start to see signs for Ojo del Desierto. Follow these signs until you reach Pasaje Rodriguez, where you will find the entrance to Ojo del Desierto.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in San Pedro de Atacama. Once you have your bike, head north on Caracoles Street. Follow the same route as pedestrians: take a right on Ignacio Carrera Pinto Street, then head towards the main square. After passing through the square, continue northeast out of town. The ride is approximately 4 kilometers, and you'll see directional signs for Ojo del Desierto. The road is mostly flat, making for an enjoyable ride. Once you reach Pasaje Rodriguez, park your bike and walk to the entrance.
