Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car within Torres del Paine National Park, head towards the main road that runs through the park, known as Ruta 9. From the entrance of the park, drive approximately 30 kilometers on Ruta 9 until you reach the sign for Laguna Amarga. Take the left turn and follow the gravel road for about 5 kilometers to reach the parking area at Puente Laguna Amarga. Be cautious of wildlife and road conditions, as some sections may be rough.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, there are bus services operating within Torres del Paine National Park. Look for the buses that stop at the Torres del Paine central bus terminal. From there, you can take a shuttle service that operates specifically to Puente Laguna Amarga. The shuttle ride usually costs around 5,000 CLP (Chilean Pesos) and takes approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary seasonally.

• Walking

  If you're already near the base of the park or have hiked in nearby areas, you can reach Puente Laguna Amarga by walking. From the Refugio Torre Central, it is approximately a 2-hour hike. Follow the trail signs towards Laguna Amarga, which will lead you through beautiful landscapes. Ensure you carry enough water and snacks, and wear sturdy hiking shoes.
