Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Cerro Bellavista, head downhill on Calle Almirante Montt towards Plaza Aníbal Pinto. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Calle San Martín. Turn left onto Calle San Martín and walk until you reach the waterfront. This should take about 15-20 minutes depending on your pace.

  • Walking

    Once you reach the waterfront, you will see Muelle Prat ahead of you. Follow the path along the waterfront until you arrive at Muelle Prat. The Aquarium Valparaiso is located at Muelle Prat s/n, just a short walk from the waterfront. The walk from the waterfront to the aquarium should take about 5 minutes.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    If you prefer not to walk, you can take a local bus from Cerro Bellavista. Look for the buses heading towards the city center (Centro). Board the bus at any nearby stop, such as the one on Calle Almirante Montt. The fare is typically around 300 CLP (Chilean Pesos). Get off at the stop near Plaza Aníbal Pinto, then follow the walking directions to Muelle Prat as described above.

  • Funicular

    Alternatively, you can take the Reina Victoria funicular located nearby. Ride the funicular down to the base, exit, and head towards the waterfront. This option offers a scenic view, but be mindful that the funicular operates from 10 AM to 8 PM during weekdays and has a fare of approximately 400 CLP. From the funicular station, walk towards Muelle Prat for about 10-15 minutes.
