Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Cascada La Plata, start from the main entrance of Los Nevados National Natural Park. Take the road towards Ibagué, heading southeast. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the town of Ibagué. From Ibagué, follow the signs towards the Cascada La Plata Ecotourism Park. The park is about 10 kilometers from the city center. There is a parking area at the entrance of the park, where you can leave your car. Be aware that there may be a small fee for parking.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Cascada La Plata via public transportation, start by taking a bus from the main terminal in Los Nevados National Natural Park to Ibagué. The bus ride takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Ibagué, you can take a taxi or a local bus that goes to the Cascada La Plata Ecotourism Park. Inform the driver of your destination to ensure you get off at the right stop. The cost of the bus from Los Nevados to Ibagué is approximately COP 10,000. The taxi fare from Ibagué to the park is around COP 20,000 to COP 30,000.

• Hiking

  For those who enjoy hiking, you can also reach Cascada La Plata by trekking from the nearest access point in Los Nevados National Natural Park. Start at the park's visitor center and follow the marked hiking trails towards the waterfall. The hike is moderate and takes approximately 3 hours, depending on your pace. It is advisable to wear suitable hiking shoes and carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
