Public Transport
To reach Lake Otún using public transportation, begin by taking a bus from the main bus terminal in Pereira to Quinchía. Buses depart regularly, and the fare is approximately 10,000 COP. Once in Quinchía, transfer to a local jeep (chiva) that services the route to Lake Otún. The jeep ride costs about 5,000 COP per person and takes you directly to the lake area. Be prepared for a potentially bumpy ride.
Car
If driving from Pereira, head north on the Autopista del Café (Route 29) towards Manizales. After about 25 kilometers, take the exit toward Quinchía. Continue on this road for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the town of Quinchía. From Quinchía, follow the signs to Lake Otún, which will lead you to secondary roads. The lake is about 12 kilometers from Quinchía. Be aware that the local roads can be narrow and winding. Parking is available near the lake, but it can be limited, especially during peak season.
