    If you are traveling by car, begin your journey in Salento, Quindio. From Salento, take the road towards the Los Nevados National Natural Park entrance. Follow signs to the park, which is approximately a 30-minute drive. Once you reach the park entrance, pay the entrance fee, which is about 20,000 COP for adults. After entering the park, continue driving until you reach the designated parking area near the Cocora Valley. From the parking area, you will need to hike approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles) to reach the base of Nevado del Quindío. The hike can take around 3-4 hours, depending on your pace.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Salento to the town of Manizales or Pereira. In Salento, you can find buses that depart regularly—just ask locals for the bus terminal. The bus fare is around 10,000 COP. Upon reaching Manizales or Pereira, you will need to transfer to a local bus heading towards the Los Nevados National Natural Park. Once you reach the park entrance, you must pay the entrance fee of approximately 20,000 COP. After entering, utilize the park's transportation (if available) to reach the Cocora Valley area, where you will need to hike about 8 kilometers (5 miles) to the base of Nevado del Quindío.
