Walking
From Popayán's city center, the hike to Cerro las Tres Cruces is a moderately challenging walk. Start from Parque de Caldas and head west, following Calle 5 until you reach Carrera 9. Turn left onto Carrera 9 and continue uphill. The road will eventually turn into a dirt path leading to the summit. The hike takes approximately 1-2 hours, depending on your fitness level. There are no entrance fees or tolls.
Taxi/Uber
A taxi or Uber from Parque de Caldas in Popayán's center to the base of Cerro las Tres Cruces is a convenient option. The ride takes around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. A typical fare costs between 8,000 and 12,000 COP. From the drop-off point, it's a 1-2 hour hike to the summit. Uber is available in Popayán.
Public Transport
To reach Cerro las Tres Cruces via public transport from Popayán's city center, take a 'colectivo' (small bus) heading towards the outskirts of the city. Ask the driver to drop you off near the trailhead of Cerro las Tres Cruces. The cost is approximately 2,000 COP. From there, it's a 1-2 hour hike to the top. Buses that go transversal 9 or one that goes by 4.
