The boat trip takes about 10-30 minutes, offering scenic views of the coastline.

From Santa Marta city center or the airport, a taxi to El Rodadero beach is the first step. Taxis from the Santa Marta airport to El Rodadero cost around 22,000 COP. From the historic center, a taxi to El Rodadero may cost around 20,000 COP, but confirm the fare before starting the trip. Once in El Rodadero, proceed to the main beach to catch a boat to the aquarium. Remember to factor in the additional boat fare of 30,000 COP round trip.

If you are already in El Rodadero, you can walk to the departure point for the boats. From the beach promenade, head towards Carrera 1 (the main road). Walk along Carrera 1 until you reach Calle 7. Turn onto Calle 7, and you will find the boat departure point. This walk takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
