Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major city or town in the Tolima Department. For example, if you are coming from Ibagué, take the Autopista del Café (Route 40) towards El Espinal. Continue on this road for approximately 60 kilometers (about 1 hour). As you approach El Espinal, look for signs directing you to the town center. Once in El Espinal, navigate to the waterfront area where Muelle Malecon is located. There are public parking areas nearby.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Muelle Malecon and La Caimanera via public transportation, take a bus from Ibagué to El Espinal. Buses leave regularly from the main terminal in Ibagué and the journey takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, costing approximately 10,000 to 15,000 COP (Colombian Pesos). Once you arrive in El Espinal, you can either walk or take a taxi to the waterfront area. Taxis are readily available and should cost around 5,000 COP to reach Muelle Malecon.

• Walking

  If you're already in El Espinal, reaching Muelle Malecon is easy on foot. From the main square (Plaza de Bolívar), head southeast along Calle 10 for about 1 kilometer (approximately 15-20 minutes walk). Follow the signs towards the river, and you will find Muelle Malecon along the waterfront, where you can enjoy beautiful views of the river.

  For a more direct route within El Espinal, you can opt for a taxi. Simply hail a taxi or call a local taxi service. The fare to Muelle Malecon should be around 5,000 COP from any central location in El Espinal. Ensure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.
