Bus
From Tunja's main bus terminal, Terminal de Transportes de Tunja, purchase a ticket to Ventaquemada. Buses to Ventaquemada run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The ride will take around 30 to 40 minutes. Once you arrive in Ventaquemada, ask the driver or locals for directions to Puente de Boyacá, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the main road towards the east, and look for signs pointing to the historical site.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Tunja. From the city center, head towards the main road that leads to Ventaquemada (Ruta Nacional 55). Follow the road for approximately 9 km. The route is relatively flat and scenic. Once you reach Ventaquemada, look for signs to Puente de Boyacá, which is located a short distance from the main road.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and up for a long walk, start by heading towards the main road from Tunja's city center. Walk east along the road toward Ventaquemada. This is about a 9 km trek and will take about 2 to 2.5 hours. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated. Once you reach Ventaquemada, you can ask locals for the final directions to Puente de Boyacá, which is nearby.
