If you're traveling by car, start from the main city in the Cundiboyacense Highlands, like Tunja. Take the route towards Boyacá via the National Route 62. Drive for about 50 km until you reach the town of Boyacá. Once in Boyacá, follow the signs to the Altiplano cundiboyacense. The plateau is located approximately 20 km from Boyacá. Look for the signs directing you to the Altiplano; you will experience beautiful landscapes along the way. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition as some roads may be rough.

For public transportation, head to the main bus terminal in Tunja. Look for buses heading towards Boyacá. The bus fare is typically around 10,000 to 15,000 COP. The journey will take about an hour. Once you arrive in Boyacá, you can take a local taxi or a shared van (colectivo) to reach the Altiplano cundiboyacense. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are going to the plateau, which is roughly 20 km away from Boyacá. Expect to pay an additional 5,000 to 10,000 COP for this taxi or colectivo ride.

For the adventurous, consider biking to Altiplano cundiboyacense. Rent a bicycle in Tunja and take the same route towards Boyacá. The distance is approximately 50 km. It is recommended to start early in the morning to avoid the afternoon heat. Bring sufficient water and snacks for the journey. Once you reach Boyacá, you can continue biking towards the plateau for another 20 km. Be prepared for some steep sections and rough terrain as you make your way to the Altiplano.
