Walking
From central Aspen, the Silver Queen Gondola is easily accessible on foot. Head east on Durant Avenue towards Aspen Mountain. The gondola base is located at the end of Durant Avenue, a short walk from most downtown hotels and shops. Allow 5-10 minutes to walk from Rubey Park.
Public Transport
Aspen's public transportation system, RFTA, offers free bus service around town. Several bus routes stop near the Silver Queen Gondola. Check the RFTA website or app for the most up-to-date schedules and routes. The Galena Street Shuttle travels continuously from the Rio Grande Parking Garage to the Silver Queen Gondola.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are readily available in Aspen. A short taxi ride from anywhere in downtown Aspen to the Silver Queen Gondola base will typically cost around $10-$15, depending on demand and distance.
Parking
If driving, parking is available at the Rio Grande Parking Plaza, located a short distance from the gondola. From there, a free shuttle runs to the Silver Queen Gondola. Parking at the Rio Grande Plaza costs $2 per hour, up to $15 per day. Metered parking is available within Aspen city limits, but these spots have a 4-hour maximum. Valet parking is available at The Little Nell hotel, near the gondola, for $15 per hour.
