Getting There

  • Walking

    From downtown Aspen, ACES is an easy walk. Head north on Mill Street, then turn left onto Puppy Smith Street. Continue past the post office; the road dead-ends at ACES. Walk down the driveway to the visitor center.

  • Public Transport

    The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) provides free bus service within Aspen. Ride any free in-town RFTA bus to Rubey Park. From Rubey Park, it's a short walk north on Mill Street, then a left onto Puppy Smith Street to ACES. RFTA bus service from Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is free to Aspen.

  • Parking

    If driving, follow directions to 100 Puppy Smith Street. Turn left at the gate to access the parking area. Parking is limited. Street parking is available in Aspen, with pay stations costing $2-$6 per hour. The Rio Grande Parking Plaza offers hourly/daily rates.

The Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) is dedicated to "educating for environmental responsibility". Founded in 1968, ACES provides innovative programming for all ages, inspiring a lifelong commitment to the Earth. ACES operates three locations in the Roaring Fork Valley: Hallam Lake, Rock Bottom Ranch, and the Catto Center at Toklat.
