Getting There

    From Crested Butte, follow Gothic Road (County Road 317) north for approximately 8.2 miles. The lower, 2WD trailhead parking area will be on the right, with overflow parking on the left, just after passing through the town of Gothic. High-clearance 4WD vehicles can continue another 0.5 miles up the rough dirt road (FSR #317.3A) to the upper Copper Creek Trailhead. Parking is free at both trailheads.

    From the lower 2WD parking area, follow the 4WD road uphill. The road switchbacks, offering views along the way. After approximately 0.5 miles, you'll reach the upper 4WD parking area. Continue past the parking area, following signs for Judd Falls. The trail narrows and becomes a dirt path, leading to the falls overlook in about 0.5 miles.
