- Reservations for the amphitheater are essential and can be made up to a year in advance on Recreation.gov.
- Consider visiting during the week to avoid weekend reservation restrictions during peak season.
- Be prepared for limited restroom facilities at the trailhead; use the facilities at Aspen Highlands before heading up.
- If using the shuttle, book in advance as it is the most convenient way to access Maroon Bells during peak season.
- Note that receptions are not allowed at the amphitheater, but the East Maroon Portal Picnic site is a nearby alternative.

Public Transport
From Aspen, take the free RFTA shuttle to Aspen Highlands Ski Area. From there, transfer to the Maroon Bells Shuttle. Shuttle tickets cost $16 for adults, $10 for seniors (65+) and children (12 and under). The shuttle operates from late May to mid-October, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, departing every 15 minutes. Reservations are required and can be made online.

Driving
From Aspen, follow Highway 82 to the roundabout and take Maroon Creek Road. A parking reservation is required to drive Maroon Creek Road. Day Visit and 24-Hour reservations must arrive before 8:00 AM. Parking costs $10 per vehicle. Note that vehicle size is limited to 19 feet. Without a reservation, driving up is only possible before 8:00 AM or after 5:00 PM.

Bike along Maroon Creek Road, a popular cycling route. The road climbs nearly 1,600 feet over 9 miles. Bicycles can access the Maroon Bells at any time for no fee. E-bikes can be rented from Four Mountain Sports at the base of Aspen Highlands.
