Discover more about Cruise Room

The Cruise Room, nestled within the iconic Oxford Hotel in Denver's LoDo (Lower Downtown) neighborhood, offers a unique glimpse into the glamour of the post-Prohibition era. Opened in 1933, the day after Prohibition was repealed, it holds the distinction of being Denver's longest-running bar. The lounge's design draws inspiration from the Observation Bar of the RMS Queen Mary, featuring an Art Deco aesthetic with a wine bottle-shaped layout. The interior is adorned with original chrome and neon lighting that reflects off wall panels created by Denver artist Alley Henson, each depicting international toasts. These panels have been preserved throughout the decades, save for one featuring a Nazi toast that was removed during World War II. The Cruise Room's commitment to its original design extends to the white Carrera marble flooring and the black lacquer bar top, meticulously restored to their 1933 glory. Today, The Cruise Room continues to serve classic cocktails and martinis in an intimate setting. Guests can enjoy small plates, with a full dinner menu available at the Oxford Hotel's restaurant, Urban Farmer. The Cruise Room is also rumored to be haunted by a postal worker who mysteriously appears, orders a beer, and vanishes, leaving behind a full bottle.
