Getting There

  • Driving

    From Golden, take Highway 93 north for 1.5 miles to Golden Gate Canyon Road. Turn left and continue for 13 miles to the park. There are multiple entrance routes to Golden Gate Canyon State Park. A daily vehicle pass costs $12. Passes and permits can also be purchased at the Visitor Center during business hours. Parking is available in designated lots throughout the park. Be aware that the park can reach capacity on weekends, especially during the fall.

  • Public Transport

    From Denver, take the Regional Transportation District (RTD) W Line light rail to the Jefferson County Government Center–Golden Station. From there, transfer to the RTD Route 17 bus towards Golden. Please note that there is no direct public transportation to Golden Gate Canyon State Park from the Jefferson County Government Center–Golden Station. You will need to take a taxi or rideshare to complete the journey, which will cost approximately $70-$90. RTD bus fare is approximately $3 per person.
