Discover more about Denver Trolley

Step back in time with a ride on the Denver Trolley, a heritage streetcar that evokes the spirit of Denver's early electric transit system. Operated by the Denver Tramway Heritage Society, the trolley runs along the South Platte River, offering passengers a unique perspective on the city's history and development. The Denver Trolley operates a replica of a 1903 Brill open streetcar, reminiscent of the 'breezer' cars that once traversed Denver's streets. The trolley route begins at Confluence Park, the very site where Denver was founded, and travels south along the river. Along the way, enjoy views of the Downtown Aquarium, the Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus, and Empower Field at Mile High. The Denver Trolley is more than just a ride; it's an opportunity to learn about Denver's past. Knowledgeable operators share interesting facts and stories about the area, providing insights into the city's rich history. The Denver Trolley recalls the open car streetcars of an earlier era in Denver, which at one point in the history of Denver was the primary means of transportation throughout the city. In circa 1920, there were a group of six "Seeing Denver" streetcars that traversed the rails. A number of buildings in Denver, though currently re-purposed, were once key structures in the trolley system, and many retain their original signage.
