Walking
From the Junction Creek Trailhead, the hike to Gudy's Rest is approximately 2 miles. Follow the Colorado Trail as it parallels Junction Creek. After about a mile, cross the creek via a bridge. From there, the trail ascends via a series of switchbacks to Gudy's Rest. The total elevation gain is around 600 feet. Parking at the Junction Creek Trailhead is free.
Public Transport
While there is no direct public transportation to the Junction Creek Trailhead, you can take a taxi or ride-sharing service from downtown Durango. The ride is approximately 4.5 miles. Expect to pay around $15-$25 for a one-way trip. From the trailhead, follow the walking directions to Gudy's Rest.
