    From the US 550 and 160 junction in Durango, head west for 4 miles. Turn right (north) onto CR 207 (Lightner Creek Rd) for 1.1 miles, then turn right onto CR 208 (Dry Fork Rd). Follow CR 208 for 2 miles until the road forks; take the left-hand fork and drive for 0.2 miles to the parking/camping area. Parking is free at the designated parking area. Limited space is available for camper trailers. Note that a valid hunting or fishing license or SWA pass is required.

    While there is no direct public transportation to Perins Peak State Wildlife Area, you can take a local bus to a nearby stop and then use a ride-sharing service or taxi to reach the trailhead. From downtown Durango, take the city bus towards Lightner Creek Road. Get off at the closest stop to the intersection of Lightner Creek Road (CR 207) and US 550/160.
