Driving
From Estes Park, drive southwest on Highway 36 for approximately 13 miles to the Beaver Meadows Entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. Continue onto Bear Lake Road for about 9 miles to reach the Bear Lake Trailhead parking area. Note that a timed entry permit may be required to enter the park and access the Bear Lake Road Corridor between late May and mid-October. Parking at the Bear Lake Trailhead is often full by early morning, so arrive early or consider using the park's shuttle system.
Public Transport
From the Estes Park Visitor Center, take the Hiker Shuttle to the Park & Ride Transit Hub located on Bear Lake Road. From there, transfer to the Bear Lake Shuttle, which runs every 10-15 minutes and stops at the Bear Lake Trailhead. The Hiker Shuttle requires reservations. Both the Hiker Shuttle and the Bear Lake Shuttle are free to ride, but park entry fees and timed entry permits still apply.
Walking
From the Bear Lake Trailhead parking area, walk towards the Bear Lake Ranger Station. The trail to Dream Lake begins to the left, just before reaching the shore of Bear Lake. Follow the paved path for approximately 0.5 miles until it turns into a dirt trail. Continue on the trail, passing Nymph Lake, for another 0.6 miles to reach Dream Lake. The total distance from the trailhead to Dream Lake is 1.1 miles.
