Getting There

Walking
From downtown Estes Park, head north on Elkhorn Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Moraine Avenue. Turn left onto Moraine Avenue and walk for about a mile. You will see signs for the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, where Trail Ridge Road begins. Note that Trail Ridge Road is a scenic driving route, so you will need to enter the park to access it. Be prepared to walk through the visitor center area to gather information and maps.

If you have a bike, you can start from the Estes Park Visitor Center located at 500 Big Thompson Ave. Head east on Big Thompson Avenue until you reach the intersection with Elkhorn Avenue. Turn left onto Elkhorn Avenue, then take the first right onto Moraine Avenue. Continue biking along Moraine Avenue for about a mile until you reach the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. From there, you can park your bike and explore the scenic views along Trail Ridge Road.
