    Getting There

    Driving

    The Deer Mountain Trailhead is located near Deer Ridge Junction, where U.S. Highway 34 (Trail Ridge Road) and U.S. Highway 36 meet on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park. From Estes Park, drive west on US-36. The trailhead will be on the right, with parking available along Trail Ridge Road. Be aware that parking is limited and fills up quickly, especially during peak season. A daily vehicle pass costs $30, or a weekly pass is $35. An annual America the Beautiful pass is also accepted.

    Shuttle

    During the summer, Rocky Mountain National Park offers a free shuttle service that stops at many popular trailheads. However, the shuttle does not directly service the Deer Mountain Trailhead. Visitors can take the shuttle to a nearby location and then walk or bike to the trailhead. Check the park's website for the most up-to-date shuttle schedule and route information. There is no cost for the shuttle, but a park entrance pass is still required.
