The Lariat Loop is accessible from Denver via I-70 or US Highway 6. From Denver, take I-70 west to exit 259 for Golden/Central City. Follow US-6 west towards Golden. Once in Golden, follow the signs for the Lariat Loop. Alternatively, from Denver, take US-6 West. Follow US-6 to Golden. Once in Golden, follow the signs for the Lariat Loop. There is no cost to drive the Lariat Loop, but some attractions along the way may have admission fees. Parking is generally free at most scenic overlooks and trailheads along the byway.

While there is no direct public transportation that runs the entire Lariat Loop, you can take the RTD Light Rail to Golden and explore the eastern portion of the loop from there. From Denver Union Station, take the W Line to the Jefferson County Government Center/Golden Station. From there, you can connect to local bus routes or use ride-sharing services to access nearby attractions on the Lariat Loop. A single ride on the RTD Light Rail costs $3.00.
