King's Row, nestled within Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, offers a mesmerizing journey into the heart of Iron Mountain. Discovered in 1960 by cave enthusiasts, including Peter Prebble, this extraordinary cave system boasts some of the most intricate and beautiful formations in Colorado. The King's Row Tour begins with an airlock tunnel entrance, leading into the Barn, a massive cave room. From there, a well-lit boardwalk with handrails guides you through the cave, though be prepared for a bit of a workout with 120 stairs. The highlight is King's Row itself, a chamber named for its chess piece-like formations. A staged light show illuminates the most striking formations, enhancing the visual experience. The caves maintain a comfortable 52 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. The tour is designed to be accessible to most fitness levels, with spacious platforms for viewing and resting. The passages are wide and open, ensuring a comfortable experience even for those who dislike tight spaces. Glenwood Caverns has a rich history, with portions of the cave first opened to the public in 1895. Today, visitors can explore both the Historic Fairy Caves and the stunning King's Row.
