Car
If you’re driving from Colorado Springs, take Highway 24 west to Manitou Springs. Once you reach Manitou Springs, follow the signs to Pikes Peak Highway. The entrance is located at the end of Manitou Avenue. There is an entrance fee of $15 per vehicle, so be prepared to pay at the gate. Follow Pikes Peak Highway (also known as Pikes Peak Scenic Byway) for approximately 19 miles until you reach the summit. The road is paved and offers several scenic overlooks along the way.
Public Transportation
To reach Pikes Peak via public transportation, first take the Mountain Metropolitan Transit bus route 33 from downtown Colorado Springs to the Manitou Springs station. Once in Manitou Springs, you can either take a taxi or rideshare service to the entrance of Pikes Peak Highway. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as service may vary. Once at the entrance, you will still need to pay the $15 entry fee per vehicle.
Tour Shuttle
Consider using a tour shuttle service that operates from Colorado Springs or Manitou Springs directly to Pikes Peak. These tours typically include transportation and may offer guided experiences. Prices vary by provider, so check in advance for options and availability. This method is particularly convenient for those who prefer not to drive.
