Discover more about Mustang Mountain Coaster

The Mustang Mountain Coaster in Estes Park delivers a unique and exhilarating experience, blending the thrill of a roller coaster with the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Located on the historic Walker family ranch, which has offered tours since 1959, the coaster provides a modern twist on enjoying the landscape. Opened in 2020, the Mustang Mountain Coaster features a 2,000-foot-long track that winds down the hillside, offering riders control over their speed for a personalized adventure. The ride begins with a conveyor pulling the sled to the top of the track, where riders are then released to descend at speeds up to 25 mph. The design incorporates both single and double-track systems, ensuring a smooth and safe ride that can operate year-round, regardless of snow or ice. Riders can manage their speed using a braking pedal, making it suitable for both thrill-seekers and those who prefer a more leisurely pace. Safety sensors maintain a safe distance between sleds, adding an extra layer of security. More than just a ride, the Mustang Mountain Coaster offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and forests. The Walker family, who own the ranch, consider the coaster a 'horseless trail ride,' providing an accessible way for everyone to experience the beauty of the area. The coaster is easily accessible from Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins, making it a convenient day trip.
