Getting There
Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey on I-70 West from Denver. Continue on I-70 for about 20 miles. Take exit 256 for US-6 E toward Golden. Merge onto US-6 E and follow the signs for Lookout Mountain. The road will lead you up the mountain. There are several scenic viewpoints along the way where you can stop for photos. The final stretch to the summit is winding, so drive carefully. Parking is available at the top.
Public Transportation
To reach Lookout Mountain via public transportation, take the RTD Light Rail from downtown Denver to the Jefferson County Government Center. From there, you can catch the 'Lookout Mountain Shuttle' which operates seasonally. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as the shuttle may not run every day. The shuttle will take you directly to the top of Lookout Mountain. Note that a small fee may be charged for the shuttle service, so prepare some cash or a card.
Bike
For the adventurous, biking to Lookout Mountain is an option. Start in Golden, Colorado, and follow the Clear Creek Trail. The trail connects to the Lookout Mountain road.
