Getting There

Driving

From Denver, take I-70 west to the Georgetown exit (Exit 228). Follow County Road 381 (Guanella Pass Scenic Byway) south for approximately 9 miles to the Guanella Pass summit. The trailhead parking is on either side of the road. Parking is free, but the lots fill up quickly, especially on weekends; arrive early. During winter, Guanella Pass Road is closed, adding mileage to the hike.

There is no public transportation directly to the Guanella Pass trailhead. The closest public transport would be to get to Georgetown, and then take a taxi or rideshare service to the trailhead, which is about 9 miles away.
