Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Boulder, CO. Take US-36 W for about 16 miles towards Nederland. Once you arrive in Nederland, turn left onto CO-119 S and continue for about 1 mile. Then turn right onto Lost Lake Road, which is a dirt road. Drive for approximately 3 miles on Lost Lake Road until you reach the Lost Lake Trailhead parking area. Note that the road may become rough and may require a high-clearance vehicle. There is no fee for parking.
Public Transportation
If you prefer using public transportation, take the RTD bus from Boulder to Nederland. The 'N' route operates frequently from the Boulder Transit Center. Once you arrive in Nederland, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach the Lost Lake Trailhead. Please note that public transportation options may be limited, and it's advisable to check the latest schedule from RTD before your trip.
Hiking
If you've parked at the Lost Lake Trailhead, you can begin your hike directly from there. The Lost Lake Trail is about a 2.5-mile hike that ascends through beautiful scenery, leading you to Lost Lake. Make sure to bring water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear, as the trail can be rocky and steep in parts.
