Getting There

• Bus

  From Bridgeport, head to the nearest bus stop on Main Street. You can catch the 10 or 11 bus towards New Haven. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the next departure. Ride the bus for approximately 30-40 minutes, and get off at the stop near the intersection of Elm Street and Church Street. From there, walk east on Elm Street for about 5 minutes until you reach 133 Elm St, New Haven, CT 06510, where the New Haven Free Public Library is located.

• Train

  Make your way to the Bridgeport Train Station located at 525 Water Street. You can walk or take a local bus to the station if needed. Purchase a ticket for the Metro-North Railroad towards New Haven. The train ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at New Haven Union Station, exit the station and walk to the bus terminal adjacent to it. From there, take bus 10 or 11 and head towards Elm Street. Get off at the stop near the intersection of Elm Street and Church Street, then walk east on Elm Street for about 5 minutes to reach the library.

• Bicycle

  If you're up for a ride, you can rent a bicycle from a local rental service in Bridgeport. Start by heading towards the waterfront and follow the scenic route along the coast. Take the bike path that leads to New Haven. The ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. Upon reaching New Haven, navigate to Elm Street by following local bike routes. Once you reach Elm Street, continue to 133 Elm St where the library is located.

• Walking

  For those adventurous enough to walk, you can follow a scenic route from Bridgeport to New Haven. Start at the Bridgeport Harbor and walk towards the Stratford Avenue Bridge. Cross the bridge and head towards New Haven along the shoreline. This route is about 9 miles and will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Once you reach New Haven, navigate to Elm Street and walk east until you find 133 Elm St, where the New Haven Free Public Library is located.
