Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by getting onto I-91 N from your current location in Central Connecticut. Depending on where you are, you may take local roads to reach the interstate. Once on I-91 N, continue for approximately 9 miles. Take exit 32 for I-291 E toward East Hartford. Continue on I-291 E for about 3 miles, then take exit 5 for Simsbury Rd toward Bloomfield. Turn right onto Simsbury Rd, and after about 1 mile, you will see Penwood State Park on your left at 560 Simsbury Rd, Bloomfield, CT 06002.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take CTtransit bus #30 from Hartford to Bloomfield. Board the bus at the Hartford Union Station and ride it towards Bloomfield. After approximately 25 minutes, disembark at the Bloomfield Town Hall stop. From there, it is about a 1.5-mile walk to Penwood State Park. Head west on Bloomfield Ave toward Simsbury Rd, then turn left onto Simsbury Rd and continue until you reach the park entrance at 560 Simsbury Rd.
