Getting There

• Public Transit

  Start at the Danbury Train Station located at 1 Patriot Drive, Danbury, CT 06810. From the station, board a bus that travels on the 5 or 6 routes towards the Danbury Fair Mall. You can catch these buses just outside the train station. After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the bus stop on Newtown Road, near the Danbury Fair Mall. Once you exit the bus, walk toward the intersection of Newtown Road and Mill Plain Road. Cross Mill Plain Road and head north on Mountainville Avenue. Continue walking for about 15 minutes, and you will arrive at the Charles Ives Birthplace Museum located at 5 Mountainville Ave, Danbury, CT 06810.

  If you are already in downtown Danbury, you can walk to the Charles Ives Birthplace Museum. Start at the Danbury City Hall located at 155 Deer Hill Ave, Danbury, CT 06810. Head east on Deer Hill Avenue towards the intersection with Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Newtown Road. Turn left onto Newtown Road and follow it until you reach the intersection with Mill Plain Road. Cross Mill Plain Road and then turn right onto Mountainville Avenue. The museum is located about 0.5 miles up Mountainville Avenue on your left at 5 Mountainville Ave, Danbury, CT 06810.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, start at the Danbury Library located at 170 Main St, Danbury, CT 06810. Take Main Street north until you reach the intersection with Newtown Road. Turn left onto Newtown Road and follow it until you arrive at the intersection with Mill Plain Road. Turn right onto Mill Plain Road and then take a left onto Mountainville Avenue. The museum is approximately 1.5 miles down Mountainville Avenue on your right at 5 Mountainville Ave, Danbury, CT 06810. Be cautious of traffic and use bike lanes when available.
