Bus
From downtown Danbury, head to the Danbury Transit Center located at 1 Patriot Drive. Take the HART bus route 5 towards Bethel. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes and get off at the stop for the Danbury Fair Mall. From there, transfer to the HART route 1 bus towards Patterson. Ride for around 30 minutes until you reach the stop near the intersection of NY-301 and Carmel Ave. From the bus stop, walk along NY-301 for about 0.5 miles, and you will arrive at Chuang Yen Monastery on your left.

Train and Bus
Start at the Danbury Train Station located at 1 Railroad Place. Board a Metro-North train on the Danbury line towards South Norwalk. After about 30 minutes, get off the train at Brewster station. From Brewster, exit the station and catch the Putnam County Transit bus route 1 towards Carmel. Ride for approximately 20 minutes and get off at the stop at NY-301 and Carmel Ave. Walk 0.5 miles down NY-301 to Chuang Yen Monastery, which will be on your left.

If you are comfortable riding a bicycle, you can rent one from a local bike shop in Danbury. From downtown, head northwest on Main Street, then take a left onto West Street. Continue on West Street until you reach the intersection with NY-301. Follow NY-301 north for about 6.5 miles, and you will find Chuang Yen Monastery on your left. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling laws.
