    From the Bridgeport Train Station at 525 Water St, head north on Water St toward Main St. Turn right onto Main St and walk for about a quarter-mile. The Barnum Museum will be on your left at 820 Main St. Look for the museum sign. This walk is approximately 10 minutes. Cost: Free

    From the downtown area, find the nearest bus stop for the Greater Bridgeport Transit (GBT). Take GBT bus number 3 or 4 from the downtown transit hub. The bus will take you along Main St. Get off at the stop closest to 820 Main St. The Barnum Museum is a short walk from the bus stop. Cost: A single GBT bus fare is $1.75.

  • Driving

    From I-95 N, take exit 27 for Main St toward Bridgeport. Merge onto Main St and continue straight for about 1.5 miles. The Barnum Museum will be on your left at 820 Main St. Parking: Street parking is available, as well as nearby parking lots. Parking fees vary.

Barnum was a visionary entrepreneur, showman, and former mayor of Bridgeport. The museum is housed in a historic building, originally known as the Barnum Institute of Science and History, which Barnum himself funded in 1891.
