Getting There

• Car

  From any location in Housatonic Valley, get onto Route 8 South. Follow the signs for Waterbury and merge onto I-84 East towards Hartford. Continue on I-84 for approximately 30 miles. Take exit 48 for Capitol Avenue. Merge onto Capitol Avenue, then turn left onto Main Street. Continue straight and take a right onto Jewell Street. The Bushnell Park Carousel will be on your left at 1 Jewell St, Hartford, CT 06103. Parking is available nearby, but may incur a fee depending on the location.

• Public Transportation (Train)

  If you are at a train station in Housatonic Valley, take the Metro-North Railroad towards Grand Central Terminal. Transfer at Bridgeport to the Amtrak train heading to Hartford. Once in Hartford, exit the train station and walk to Union Station. From there, you can take the CT Transit bus number 60 towards Downtown Hartford. Get off at the stop near Main Street and Jewell Street. The Bushnell Park Carousel is a short walk from the bus stop, located at 1 Jewell St, Hartford, CT 06103.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  If you prefer to travel by bus, check the schedule for the CT Transit bus service from Housatonic Valley to Hartford. Board a bus heading to Downtown Hartford. Once you arrive at the bus terminal, exit and walk towards Main Street. Turn right onto Jewell Street, and you will find the Bushnell Park Carousel located at 1 Jewell St, Hartford, CT 06103.
