    From Stamford, head to the Stamford Transportation Center. You can walk there from downtown or take a local bus. Once at the train station, board a Metro-North train heading to Grand Central Terminal in New York City. The journey will take about 50 minutes. After arriving at Grand Central, transfer to the 4, 5, or 6 subway line heading uptown toward 125th Street. Get off at 125th Street Station and transfer to the M102 bus toward East 125th Street. Get off at the stop at 5th Avenue and 103rd Street, and then walk south on 5th Avenue for about 15 minutes until you reach the Museum of the City of New York at 1220 5th Ave.

    From Stamford, take the CT Transit bus route 901 towards New York City. The bus will take you to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. Once you arrive, exit the terminal and walk to the 42nd Street subway station. Take the 7 train toward Flushing and transfer at Times Square to the 1, 2, or 3 subway line heading uptown. Get off at 125th Street Station and transfer to the M102 bus towards East 125th Street.
