Bus
From Yonkers, you can catch the Bee-Line Bus #1 from the Yonkers Transit Center. Board the bus heading towards the Bronx. Stay on the bus for approximately 40 minutes until you reach the Fordham Road & Grand Concourse stop. Transfer to the Bx12 bus towards Pelham Bay Park and ride it for about 20 minutes until you reach the E 91st St & 5th Ave stop. From there, walk east on E 91st St for about 2 minutes to reach the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum at 2 E 91st St.

Train
Begin your journey at the Yonkers Metro-North train station. Take the Hudson Line train towards Grand Central Terminal. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at Grand Central. From there, transfer to the 4, 5, or 6 subway line at Grand Central Station. Take the subway to 86th St station. Exit the station and walk west on E 86th St for 5 blocks until you reach 5th Ave. Turn left and continue south for 3 blocks to E 91st St, where you will find the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.

If you are already in Yonkers near the waterfront, head south along the Yonkers waterfront promenade towards the Yonkers Transit Center. Once there, take the Bee-Line Bus #1 heading towards the Bronx. Follow the directions for the bus above to reach the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum by transferring to the Bx12 bus at Fordham Road & Grand Concourse.
