Take I-84 West towards Hartford, then merge onto I-91 South. After approximately 10 miles, take exit 48 to merge onto I-95 South towards New Haven. Continue on I-95 for about 30 miles. Take exit 43 for US-1 South towards West Haven. Continue straight on US-1 and then turn right onto Beach Street. Follow Beach Street until you reach Sandy Point Bird Sanctuary on your left. There is no parking fee, but make sure to check for any local parking restrictions.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Willimantic to New Haven. You can use the CTtransit bus service, which connects various towns in The Quiet Corner. Once you arrive in New Haven, transfer to the 204 or 205 bus towards West Haven. Get off at the stop nearest to Beach Street. From there, it is about a 10-minute walk to Sandy Point Bird Sanctuary.
