If you're traveling by car, start on Route 44, heading south towards Willimantic. Merge onto Route 32 South until you reach the intersection with I-84. Take I-84 West towards Hartford, then merge onto I-91 South. After approximately 10 miles, take exit 48 to merge onto I-95 South towards New Haven. Continue on I-95 for about 30 miles. Take exit 43 for US-1 South towards West Haven. Continue straight on US-1 and then turn right onto Beach Street. Follow Beach Street until you reach Sandy Point Bird Sanctuary on your left. There is no parking fee, but make sure to check for any local parking restrictions.
