    If you're in Avarua, start at the Punanga Nui Market and head south on the Main Road (Ara Tapu). The Umu Experience is approximately a 25-minute walk (2 km). Enjoy the local shops and scenery along the way.

    Take either the Clockwise or Anti-Clockwise bus from Avarua. Inform the driver you wish to stop at Umu Experience, located on the Main Road in Tupapa Tapere. The bus fare is around NZ$5. Umu Experience is between Super Brown Tupapa & Love cafe.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available in Avarua. A taxi ride from Avarua to Umu Experience is a short trip. Expect to pay around NZ$15-NZ$25. Agree on a flat rate before starting the ride.

    From Avarua town center, drive south on the Main Road (Ara Tapu). Continue for about 2 kilometers; Umu Experience will be on your right, past the Tupapa Tapere area. Ample parking is available on-site.
