    The most common way to reach Arenal Volcano National Park is by car. From La Fortuna, head west on Route 142. The drive to the main visitor center takes approximately 30 minutes. Parking is available at the visitor center, free with your park entrance. Note that a 4x4 vehicle is not required to reach the main visitor center. To reach the Peninsula Sector, continue past the main visitor center, following signs for "Volcan Arenal Sector Peninsula National Park". This route will lead you to the office of the Peninsula sector. The drive between the two sectors is approximately 11 minutes.

    While there is no direct public bus to Arenal Volcano National Park, you can take a bus from La Fortuna towards the park. Check local bus schedules for the most up-to-date information. From the bus stop, you may need to walk or take a taxi to the park entrance. A taxi from La Fortuna to the Arenal Volcano National Park costs approximately $15 - $20.
