From Puerto Viejo, head north on Route 256 for about 15 minutes (approximately 10 km). Look for signs indicating 'Cahuita' and take the exit onto Route 36. Continue on Route 36 until you reach Cahuita. Once in Cahuita, follow the signs towards Parque Nacional Cahuita located at Av. 71 215. There is parking available near the park entrance, but be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.

From Puerto Viejo, you can catch a bus heading to Cahuita at the main bus terminal. Buses run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes, and the ride takes about 30 minutes. The cost is around 500-1000 CRC (Costa Rican colón). Once you arrive at the Cahuita bus stop, it’s a short walk to the park entrance located at Av. 71 215. Follow the signs to reach the park.
