Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest city, Puerto Jiménez. From Puerto Jiménez, head south on Route 245 for about 18 km (approximately 30 minutes). Continue on Route 245 until you reach the San Pedrillo Ranger Station, which is located at the coordinates 8.62082, -83.7348291. Look for the ranger station marked with a sign. Note that the road may be rough and unpaved, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, take a bus from Puerto Jiménez to the nearest drop-off point to San Pedrillo. Buses generally leave from the main bus station in Puerto Jiménez. Confirm the schedule with local operators, as it can vary. Once you get off the bus, you will need to hike the remaining distance to the San Pedrillo Ranger Station, which is about a 3 km walk. Be prepared for some uneven terrain. It is advisable to wear sturdy hiking shoes.
