From Bahia Drake, look for signs directing you to Punta Rio Claro. The refuge is located approximately 30 minutes from Bahia Drake. The road may be unpaved, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain.

    From Corcovado National Park, you can take a bus or shuttle from Carate to Puerto Jiménez. Once in Puerto Jiménez, look for a local bus or shared shuttle service that goes to Bahia Drake. The fare for the bus is approximately 2,500 CRC (Costa Rican Colones). Once you arrive in Bahia Drake, you can either hike to Punta Rio Claro (which takes about 30 minutes) or arrange for a taxi, which may cost around 10,000 CRC.
