Getting There

  • Car

    From Corcovado National Park, exit the park via the main entrance at La Leona. Drive towards the town of Puerto Jiménez. The drive will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, covering a distance of approximately 50 km. Once you reach Puerto Jiménez, look for signs directing you to Drake Bay. You will need to take Route 245 towards the village of Drake Bay, which is about another 45 minutes to 1 hour drive. The road can be bumpy, so drive cautiously.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    From Corcovado National Park, make your way to Puerto Jiménez. If you are near the La Leona entrance, you can catch a taxi to Puerto Jiménez, or if you are in the park, return to the main road and flag down a passing bus heading to Puerto Jiménez. Buses run several times a day. Once in Puerto Jiménez, catch a bus to Drake Bay. This bus ride will take about 1 hour and is often scheduled to coincide with the arrival of other transportation.
