Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are going to Carrillo. The journey should take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Carrillo, get off at the main bus stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 15 minutes to reach Hacienda El Viejo Wetlands. Head southeast on the main road (Route 21) and follow the signs to the wetlands, which will be on your left.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Liberia. Simply find a taxi at a designated taxi stand or call one using a local taxi service. The drive to Hacienda El Viejo Wetlands should take about 25 minutes. Just give the driver the address: 'Guanacaste Province, Carrillo, near the wetlands.' Taxis are generally safe and reliable, and this option allows for a more comfortable journey.
